A Culturally Responsive & Individualized Approach

Counselling should be a space where you feel heard, respected, and understood.

Our approach is:

  • Client-centred – Therapy is tailored to your individual needs and goals.

  • Culturally responsive – Your culture and lived experiences are respected and explored when relevant to your counselling goals.

  • Inclusive – We provide a welcoming, non-judgmental environment where you can be yourself.

  • Strength-based – We focus on your strengths, resilience, and existing resources.

  • Collaborative – We work with you to develop strategies that feel realistic and meaningful.

BIPOC counselling is not about making assumptions based on someone's background. Every person's experience is different, and therapy is shaped around what matters to you.

Areas of Support

Anxiety & Stress

Anxiety and stress can affect relationships, school, work, confidence, and everyday life.

Support is available for:

  • Anxiety and excessive worry

  • Social anxiety

  • Stress and overwhelm

  • Self-esteem and confidence

  • Emotional regulation

  • School and academic pressure

  • Life transitions

  • Coping strategies

Counselling can help you better understand your emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, and feel more confident navigating everyday challenges.

Identity, Culture & Belonging

Identity can become an important part of mental health, particularly during adolescence and young adulthood.

Counselling can provide space to explore:

  • Cultural identity

  • Racial identity

  • Belonging and connection

  • Family and cultural expectations

  • Self-worth and confidence

  • Experiences of discrimination

  • Relationships between different cultural environments

You don't need to have a specific concern or experience to explore your identity. Counselling can simply provide a safe space to better understand yourself.

BIPOC Child & Teen Counselling

Children and teens may experience challenges related to school, friendships, family relationships, identity, and emotional wellbeing.

BIPOC child counselling can provide younger children with developmentally appropriate support, including play-based approaches when appropriate.

For teenagers, counselling can provide a space to talk openly about:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Self-esteem

  • School pressure

  • Friendships and relationships

  • Family dynamics

  • Identity and belonging

  • Cultural expectations

  • Experiences of discrimination

  • Emotional regulation

At Liv Therapy, our goal is to create an environment where children and young people feel comfortable being themselves and developing the tools they need to navigate life's challenges. Conveniently located in White Rock, BC.
